In your neighbourhood, workplace or even your own home, you will see someone with a KidsAbility story. Over 11,000 children and youth with special needs across Waterloo Region and Guelph-Wellington receive the help that they need in their own community.
When a family has concerns about their child, often the first place they turn to is KidsAbility. Immediately, they are connected to resources, programs and supports, whether it is here at KidsAbility or outside of our walls leveraging our strong community partnerships. No other organization in our community provides families with the breadth of therapy and services for children and youth with physical, communication or developmental challenges—regardless if they have a diagnosis or not. Our team works with each family to identify the goals that are important to them and then, together, we develop a plan of action to make these goals possible—always with the family at the centre. Whether it is physio, occupational, speech and recreation therapy, social work, augmentative communication or specialized clinics, our goal is to get the right help to the right child at the right time where they live, learn, work and play and donations help to make that possible.
Programs and services at KidsAbility are funded through the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, fee-for-service options and though the generous support of our community. KidsAbility Foundation engages our community partners, individuals and groups to help make a difference in children’s lives. Demand for KidsAbility’s services continues to exceed the resources provided by the provincial government and donations fund new programs, innovation and equipment. Donations also allow KidsAbility to serve an additional 1,000 children and youth with special needs each year. Without this generous support, more children would be waiting even longer to receive the care that they deserve and need.
Proudly founded and supported by local Rotarians since 1957, KidsAbility is the recognized leader in Waterloo Region and Guelph-Wellington for empowering children and youth with a wide range of complex special needs to realize their full potential. We are a member of Empowered Kids Ontario (EKO).
KidsAbility believes that everyone deserves to be a part of an inclusive community that values each person for their difference. We strive to create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone and are committed to creating a positive space within our organization where diversity is celebrated.
Brighter futures happen here!
