Ready, Set, Learn! - Kitchener - BSS Social Skills Group

Ready, Set, Learn is designed to enhance early social skills within a structured group-learning framework through routine, repetition and peer interaction. Through engaging weekly themes, your child will be supported by our experienced Instructor Therapists to practice attending, following instructions, turn taking, sharing and communication with peers through interactive lessons, modelling, group games and various structured activities.

To improve social and peer interactions through:

• Behaviour Skills Training on topics (instruction, modelling, rehearsal and feedback)
• Prompting and reinforcement to teach priority goals each session
• Data collection to assess acquisition of priority goals

Goals:

• Raise hand to get teacher’s attention and/or to answer questions
• Greet others
• Sits appropriately in a small group
• Plays in close proximity to other peers (parallel play)
• Follows instructions in a small group

Families will receive a summary of recommendations outlining the strategies developed through each week of group to continue to apply your learning in other settings. By registering for this group, you are committing to attending all session dates.

Dates: 9:30am-11:30am weekly on Mondays from April 17^th to June 26^th, 2023. Please note, there will be no sessions on Monday April 10^th or Monday May 22^nd, 2023 due to statutory holidays.
