Camp Information

January 13, 2022 - After careful consideration, KidsAbility has made the difficult decision not to offer any social and recreation summer camps in 2022 due to limited space and staffing resources as a result of COVID-19.

While KidsAbility will not offer these types of camps this year, we will continue to support clients and families in choosing the right social and recreation offering for their child in 2022 through a variety of upcoming Summer Camp Planning Workshops and Summer Camp Fairs. For details on these events, please find information below.

Summer Camp Planning Workshops:

These virtual workshops are designed to give parents and service providers the information they need to plan a successful summer camp experience for children with special needs. Registrants will receive a Zoom link via email the morning of the workshop.

At these workshops, you’ll learn about:
  • The different types of inclusion supports available and how to access them
  • Funding options for camp fees and specialized supports
  • Sharing information about your child
  • Preparing your child for camp
  • Municipal and YMCA camps and supports available

Summer Camp Fairs - Waterloo Region and Guelph-Wellington:

In partnership with the Waterloo Region Family Network, KidsAbility is hosting a series of Summer Camp Fairs to showcase available camps for families in 2022.


At these free virtual events, you’ll learn more about summer camp opportunities for children, youth, and young adults with special needs in Waterloo Region, Guelph-Wellington, and beyond.

Summer Camp Fair #1 – Overnight Camps in Waterloo Region and Beyond


Will focus on overnight camps that specialize in programming for individuals with special needs as well as overnight camps that have inclusion programs that provide additional supports for campers with special needs to participate in mainstream programs. Watch the 2022 Overnight Camp Fair video.
