It’s more than a library! There are over 7,500 resources that are available through our Resource Centre to anyone in our community—regardless of if you are a KidsAbility family or not. KidsAbility’s Resource Centre has books, toys, equipment that can be borrowed, support and so much more. There are many ways in which we can help you to navigate whatever journey you may be on.
Resource Centre Orientation
The Resource Centre is often the first step in a family’s journey at KidsAbility. Families learn that they are not alone and are connected to information, resources, supports and training to help them support their child in realizing goals that are meaningful to them. Schedule an appointment at any of KidsAbility’s sites to meet with our Resource Centre Coordinator who can assist you in:
- Finding answers to questions about KidsAbility’s services or other community resources
- Researching information on specific topics
- BoardMaker training to help guide you in creating communication tools.
Anyone in our community is welcome to benefit from all of the resources, support and services offered at our Resource Centre. You do not have to be a KidsAbility family or client.
To get started, please visit one of our sites and fill out a membership form. You can borrow up to four items at a time for up to two weeks. Renewals may be possible for items but you must arrange this with the Resource Centre before the item becomes due to ensure that it hasn’t been reserved by someone else. Borrowers are responsible for ensuring that all items are returned on time, clean and in working order otherwise replacement costs may apply.
We gratefully accept donations of new and gently used books, games and multi-media materials for our Resource Centres. If you have equipment that you wish to donate, please refer to KidsAbility’s Equipment Donation information.
